Team QCW Membership is Open to Everyone
Regardless of whether you qualify for a free Team QCW kit, membership on the team remains open year round to anyone who races in the Team QCW kit, purchases a QCW membership, lists Queen City Wheels on their USAC license, and completes a rider bio. No rider contract is required for riders purchasing their own kit and they still qualify for all other Team QCW benefits. Riders competing in non-USAC sanctioned events such as triathlons are not required to wear the Team QCW kit in those events and may belong to other non-USAC affiliated teams.

Riders interested in racing for Team QCW who raced for other teams or unattached in 2013 and score 20 “Event Points” with their 2013 races according to the schedule below, are eligible for a FREE Team QCW race kit (jersey and shorts). Interested riders should contact th

The number of participants may be limited. Applications will be considered and reviewed in the order in which they are received. Other factors not stated here may be considered decisions concerning eligibility.

Juniors Age 8 to 12 FREE Jersey and Entry Fees (no race minimum)
Junior riders age 8 to 12 who race for Team QCW are eligible for a free Team QCW jersey. Recipients of this benefit will also be reimbursed for all of their USAC entry fees up to the standard $600. There is no requirement to earn Event Points for reimbursement, other than the volunteer requirement, which may be fulfilled by a family member or friend.

These benefits are open to any USA Cycling licensed Junior racing for Team QCW who lives in the greater Cincinnati area. Interested riders should contact

U23 FREE Kit (no race minimum)
U23 riders age 19 to 22 who race for Team QCW are eligible for a free Team QCW shorts and jersey. Recipients of this benefit earn Event Points at 2x the regular rate in order to earn entry fee reimbursement up to $600.

Interested riders should contact the Team Director and provide a completed
Free Kit Rider Bio application, upon approval they will receive a rider contract to sign. Age eligibility is determined by road or cyclocross racing age. Depending upon a rider’s activity level the free kit may or may not be given annually.

2013 Returning Riders FREE Kits
Returning senior riders who earned 20 Event Points in 2013 will be given a free team kit. Riders must renew their QCW membership, USAC license and sign a new rider contract by January 15th

Entry Fee Reimbursement
Race any combination of USAC road, track, cyclocross and mountain bike races, for which you will earn “Event Points” based on the schedule listed below. Your total “Event Points” will determine your entry fee reimbursement level. A rider must also earn a minimum of 1 Event Point through volunteering to work at a QCW event. Event Points are earned when competing in the current Team QCW kit while racing in a USAC sanctioned event. Contact

Entry Fee Reimbursement Schedule
    20 Event Points = $150
    25 Event Points = $200
    30 Event Points = $250
    35 Event Points = $300
    40 Event Points = $350
    45 Event Points = $400
    50 Event Points = $450
    55 Event Points = $500
    60 Event Points = $550
    65 Event Points = $600   

2014 Event Points Schedule
1) Ault Park = 3 points per week
2) 5 weeks of Cleves Time Trials = 2 points (annual maximum)
3) All Cincinnati area races = 2 points per race see below*
4) Podium finish at Districts or Nationals = 3 points per event see below**
5) Other USAC races = 1 point per race see below***
6) Volunteer QCW time trial = 1 point per week see below****
7) Volunteer Spring 33k TT = 1 point per week see below****
8) Volunteer entire Ault Park series = 2 points per week see below****
9) Volunteer QCW Spring Series, Other QCW races = 2 to 4 points see below****

*Cincinnati area races including the Spring Race Series, Maderia Criterium, Hyde Park Blast, Lionhearts GP, OVCX Series, 4 weeks Kings CXTT and other Cincinnati area races. Races outside of Cincinnati that are a part of the Spring and OVCX series WILL be counted at 2 points each.

** Podium finish is defined as being a medalist in the event. Winning a district event in Indiana as a resident of Ohio does NOT qualify as a podium finish.

*** 1 point races that qualify will be any that have a USAC road, track, cyclocross or mountain bike race permit.

**** 2 to 4 points. Volunteers must receive approval from the event director to qualify for points at their event. You may earn Event Points by having friends or family work our events also. Event Points must be turned in to

U23 Riders
U23 riders when wearing the Team QCW kit, will earn Event Points at DOUBLE the rate of Senior riders. i.e. Ault Park=6pts, Cincinnati area races=4pts, other USAC races=2pts.

U23 riders may race collegiate events in their university race kits, these races do not earn “Event Points."

 

Free QCW Race Entries
Team QCW riders’ entry fees are waived to QCW promoted events like
Ault Park, Spring Series (QCW), District Road Race and Time Trials. Riders should try to pre-register, but should NOT pay an entry fee. Check with individual QCW event promoters for how they will handle QCW rider registration. Wearing the team kit is mandatory for free entry.

Discounted Team Helmets & Free Replacement
From time to time Montgomery Cyclery and Carew International will be subsidizing the cost of Bell Gage helmets in team colors which will be made available to team members. The helmets come with an additional crash subsidy replacement where we will replace your team helmet if it is damaged due to accident. Helmets must be structurally compromised to qualify.

Free Replacement Clothing
Team riders are eligible for replacement of one crash damaged pair of shorts and/or. Clothing must have holes or be significantly damaged to qualify. Generally a pair of shorts that hits the pavement is probably going to tear, but a jersey may only be scuffed and not torn significantly. Replacements will be approved by a club director. Riders are required to turn over the damaged clothing in exchange for new clothing at the discretion of the director in charge. Normal wear and tear of clothing is not covered.

USA Cycling Training Camp Subsidy
Eligible team members attending an approved USA Cycling training camp will be reimbursed for 50% of the cost (up to $250). Contact

Montgomery Cyclery Discount
Team riders are eligible for a 20% discount off of merchandise at any of the seven
Montgomery Cyclery locations.  This discount does not apply to bicycles, but riders are free to work with Montgomery Cyclery on specific bicycle purchases.

Giant Bike “Pro-Deal” Pricing
This is done once in the fall on an annual basis. These are bike rewards normally only Cat 1 teams achieve! 
Giant Bicycles, administered through Montgomery Cyclery, have partnered with Queen City Wheels to supply bicycles for the race team at unheard of discounts through 2015.  The agreement also described as a “Pro-Deal” or “Grass Roots Program” is normally reserved for the most elite programs in cycling circles and are now available to our qualifying members.  Complete bicycle deals so good we can’t share all the details until you join.  All inquiries should be directed to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . Priority Bicycle Servicing at Montgomery Cyclery
Priority 72 hour turnaround on repairs not requiring special order parts.

Discounted Coaching
Cinci Cycling Coach is owned by Cincinnati’s highest rated USA Cycling licensed coach Peter Wimberg. Through Cinci Cycling Coach the club provides free coaching clinics and discounted coaching programs.
