Purpose of the Team

  • Help those who love cycling to get started in the sport, using the discipline of cyclocross.  Kids may ultimately prefer other disciplines (road, mountain, etc) but cyclocross is the best plact to start.  We are not “elite” only.
  • Help develop the skills and habits of an effective racer.  Technical skills, training, how to use equipment, nutrition, etc.
  • Help parents in their work to raise strong and virtuous kids.

QCW Lionhearts are accepting registrations for the 2012/13 Cyclocross season now.  You will see that we are making some changes to the structure of the team, in order to provide focused coaching attention on those who plan to race a lot.  There wll be a limited number of slots on the Lionhearts Travel Race Team.  The Lionhearts Travel Race Team is for those who want to commit racing at least 9 events and are prepared to travel to at least 4 out of town races, and who can commit to regular training.  Generally, members of the Travel Race Team will find it difficult to compete in another fall sport.  The Lionhearts Club Team is open to those who want to learn, race and be part of the Lionhearts program but at a lower commitment level.  Details are available on the registration page in the links given below.

There are 3 steps to registration.

A) QCW Membership is required.  You can purchase a QCW membership or check to see if you are already a member
AT THIS LINK - QCW Club Membership

B)
Lionhearts Team Registration and Payment.

C)
Initial Clothing Order Size / Item selection, done on-line.

Note that we will place the initial order for clothing which is being provided by the team on JULY 20th.  Everyone registered by that date should have their new kits by the first cyclocross race.  We will place a second order soon after that in which everyone wll have the opportunity to purchase additional items.

Info on the season can be viewed on the
BIKEREG page,

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions or need help as you consider options for the cyclocross season.
