The 40k Time Trial training ride out of Alexandria, KY returns for 2010.  We will be putting this on once per month for four months from March through June.  As with the Cleves Time Trial Series, these training rides will be free to all QCW members, and you will be given a time shortly after the last rider has completed the course.

The purpose of a 40k Time Trial Series is to give our members an avenue for training at this distance.  The State and National Time Trial Championships are at this distance as well as the bike leg of an Olympic/International Triathlon.  This is also good for road racers to train for breakaways or catching on to the back of the Peleton if dropped off the back for any reason.

The 2010 series will be on the second Saturday of each month from March through June as follows:

Saturday, March 13th

Saturday, April 10th

Saturday, May 8th

Saturday, June 12th (rained out)

The events will start at 10:00 AM with riders starting in one-minute intervals.  The course is a unique out and back course with a flying downhill start, followed by 9 miles of fairly flat terrain.  There is a serious climb before reaching the sweeping turnaround.  You will finish with a screaming downhill and a return along the fast and flat 9 miles.  The actual finish line is BEFORE the climb back up to the starting line.

PARKING and REGISTRATION:

At the St Mary Parish, 8246 East Main Street.  Park near the school.  The starting order will also be announced at the fairgrounds BEFORE rolling out to the starting line.

DIRECTIONS:

From Cincinnati, take I-471 South.  Continue onto US-27 for 6.8 miles.  Turn left onto Rt. 10 and the entrance to the church will be on the right.

Here is the route we will be using.

Here is a map showing how the turn around will work.

All riders must be members of QCW.
