2015 Spring Series Omnium Results and Payouts

From: Jeff Seeley - Race Director

Thank you for participating in the QCW Omnium this past weekend.  I want to apologize to all racers for a rules violation that I made as the Race Director for the Race.  As you know the weather and conflicting races made this year’s race considerably smaller than last year.  As the race director we invested considerably more resources in safety and total race payouts than past years.  When our registrations were significantly below the previous year, I made a last minute decision to reduce certain payouts for the Overall Omnium Podium to reduce our losses, this was posted at all registration points on both Saturday and Sunday.  I could provide a variety of reasons for this decision none of which is an excuse for a rule violation.

Chief Referee Ron Garrett brought this violation to my attention after most of the podiums were distributed.  We were able to correct some on the spot others affected will be sent checks within 7 days to your waiver addresses for the payout differences.  Ignorance is no excuse and we will correct our mistake very quickly.  Additionally, I have reported this incident directly USA Cycling with apologies and our corrective action.   Please understand this was decision on my part, not Queen City Wheels or it team members. They have earned a stellar reputation and continue to deserve their well earned respect.

Thank you for participating and we are hopeful that you and your teams will support our future races.
